Yes. Or at least the pathfinder was. We had one, it did great when some idiot pulled in front of my father, even though the air bag didn’t go off, he didn’t get a scratch and 40 MPH.

RIP

@f1ndth3r3al63 But you are: and that data that you are looking up might be messed up as well. Remember that this test isn’t talking about roll overs, and the government serves no benefit of painting Ford in a favorable light.

Furthermore that tire shit that Ford went through cause a higher number of their cars to roll over, and that wasn’t 100% Fords fault. The bottom line is every SUV has dangers.

Oh and about Ford “copying” Jeep, why would you care if your a non biased source?

i know the older jeep grand cherokes flip alot but are fairly tough and tend not to be damaged as bad as their comp in fender benders

How many cars really crash sideways at that speed into a pole? Not many… Side protection in cars still has a long way to go.

i’m not slinging fire and its pretty stupid to argue on youtube. i just did a whole project on SUV saftey and the explorer was the most dangerous due to roll overs and poor crash testing. the crash testing only got better in 2002 but the roll over is the same untill now with there “new” roll over technology which is really a copy of jeeps 4wheeldrive system the quadratrac 1 2 and selectrac 2

wait until you see a video I will be posting soon of a Toyota Sienna that rolls after being hit. Yeah Ford is the only one. U love slinging fire, dont you.

yeah thank ford for the high death rate in roll overs. most dangerous SUV besides the hummer. what a piece of shit. and notice how jeep gets 4 starrs and ford get 5? sounds a little biest in my opinion. but if they compared roll over safety ford would lose miserably

the bad thing is, the neon NEVER improved. but the F-150 got a structural re-design and passe with flying colors. also the chevy s-10, is a death trap. and have you seen what happened when the crashed the toyota previa? maor death trap

Correct, when it would hit a smaller car (i.e. Ford Focus, Dodge Neon) there would be greater chance of survival. IIHS says the Ubody minivans are the worst performers ever in the offset crash test…that and the 97-03 F150 came next and the Dodge Neon did pretty bad.

bajabusta Said,

yes the Ubody is a death trap when crashed against itself. BUt I assure you when dealt w/ something smaller, I am sure you would do okay. Everything is relative. Don’t misunderstand me, I know it is the lowest of lows, but I bet put against a much smaller car, it would sustain less damage.

Great post. Love the crash test segments. Im guessing this was 2000-2001 based on the car models and styles.

I was searching for the side impact of the chevy venture, and I finally find it, thanks for the posting, very good videos bajabusta, and I think that if the venture is 5 stars without side airbags, with it (my venture has it) would be very safe in side impacts
