U can have a Lotus Elise SC for the same price as a basic Porsche Boxster. Sure, the Boxster has a more luxurious interior and more gadgets, but who cares about that in a roadster?
Boxsters are good cars, but why pay so much money for a Porsche when u can buy a much faster, more fun and more exotic Lotus?

Porsche is simply the best. From the Boxter to the Carerra GT. They answer all the demands you throw at them.

I have sold THOUSANDS of cars since being in the business and ran all kinds of stores from Ford to Mercedes and 90% of American’s Finance their vehicles and struggle to afford $20K cars .. This is the same group that call cars “poor man cars”.Most of the Boxsters I have sold were to Surgeons, Stock Brokers, fellow Finance and Sales Managers in the car business(that earn $100K a year)

it takes up after the epic 914 and 924 from the 80’s.. they want to make a cheap porshe for everyone to own.. but the price reflects what you get.. not much fun.. if you want to have fun, try a 911 turbo, that’s a porshe! and you can get it used for less than a boxter.

sure the boxter is well balanced, and everyone, even your grandma and her grandma too can drive it, but it’s no challenge at all. it’s like riding a train, you can’t do anythinhg wrong.. boring

@RobbieH02879 it’s still lot cheaper than a 911, that’s why it’s called a poor man’s porshe. i love porshe myself, and i have a 911 carrera turbo from the late 80’s, and i’d never ever consider to buy a boxter. i can’t afford a new 911, so i buy a used one..

Clarkson, as much as I like him, is a total retard when it comes to talking about a Boxster or Cayman. People buy them INSTEAD of a 911 because they mid-engined and cheaper and provide just as much fun. Its a no-brainer!

Agreed.Guy is definitely an idiot. ANYONE who can buy a Brand New boxster is doing well for themselves. I’ve been in the car business for 10 years and Sales Manager, Finance Manager and can tell you 90% of Average Americans can NOT afford a $40K+ car, most finance their cars anyway.

Average Income for American’s is less than $50K a year and in MANY parts it is less than$30K). The average persons NEW car costs less than $20K. HALF of what a New Boxster costs and many cant even afford that!
